QFS was appointed to deliver the scaffolding and specialist access package for the building-safety remediation works at 52–58 Commercial Road in London.
The development comprises two residential towers rising to 13 and 18 storeys above a shared podium. QFS is providing safe external access to support the investigation, removal and replacement of façade materials across the different elevations and building heights.
A key feature of the scaffold is the complex gallows support system. This required a highly engineered, bespoke solution to safely transfer the scaffold loads into the existing structure while providing the access needed for the façade works.
The restricted central London location requires carefully planned deliveries, detailed scaffold design and close coordination with the façade works and wider construction programme.
The project received Gateway 2 approval from the Building Safety Regulator before work commenced. It demonstrates QFS’s ability to deliver complex, safety-critical access solutions on high-rise buildings while meeting the strict requirements of the current building-safety regime.
